Frequently Asked Questions

If you have been arrested for a DUI, your evaluation classified you as Minimal, Moderate, Significant or High Risk. Based on your risk classification you are required to complete an alcohol/drug education class and/or counseling. The following is a description of the services that we provide.

ASSESSMENTS/EVALUATIONS

  • Determine appropriate level of care

DUI RISK EDUCATION CLASSES

  • Required for Minimal, Moderate and Significant Risk Classifications
  • Completion of ten hours
  • Must attend four consecutive classes
  • Pass Post-Test with a score of 75% or better
  • Receive a Certificate of Completion

INTAKE

  • Required for Moderate, Significant and High Risk Classifications
  • An initial screening and assessment for admission into an appropriate level of treatment
  • Clients are informed of program’s rules, guidelines, expectations, fees, client’s rights and laws of confidentiality
  • Together with the counselor, the client will participate in the development of a treatment plan (identifying problems, goals and objectives to be addressed in the treatment)

MODERATE RISK

  • To discuss personal experiences and issues that relate to the use of alcohol/drugs and help prevent any further alcohol related consequences.
  • Completing of twelve hours of early intervention/group counseling

SIGNIFICANT RISK

  • To discuss experiences regarding the abuse of alcohol/drugs and to identify changes needed to avoid abusing alcohol/drugs in the future
  • Completion of twenty hours of outpatient treatment

CONTINUING CARE

  • After primary treatment, to monitor a client’s progress regarding their past abuse of alcohol/drugs, relapse prevention

HIGH RISK

  • To discuss experiences and issues regarding their abuse/dependency to alcohol/drugs and develop skills to help avoid substance related problems
  • Completion of seventy-five hours of intensive outpatient treatment
